Whoops!

I know, it has been a while. I have been a little preoccupied with unpacking. Yes, I am still unpacking...

But we are more or less settled. We have a couch and some bookshelves and my favorite thing, a dresser for our clothes. We were living out of our suitcases for a couple weeks. Did I ever mention how much I HATE clutter?

Anyways, life has been pretty grand since we have moved to Millis. We love the town. It is small, but it has everything we want. We live next to a park with soccer fields, a baseball diamond, a playground and some nature trails. We have been to the park almost everyday, even when it has been quite chilly. I get a little cooped up. Oh how I long for spring!

The library is AMAZING! It is also brand-spanking new. Lucy, Sam and I went to storytime last week. There were probably 30 kids. It was very busy. Lucy introduced herself several times, because that is what she does. Then when we had to leave she said "bye friends!" Because Lucy makes pretty immediate friends when she goes places. She is so cute, and so darn talkative, and stubborn and well she is two (almost three!).

Sam went through some sleep regression, which wasn't at all a surprise. That child is easily disturbed when it comes to sleeping habits. But he is better than he was a few months ago, and only wakes up once a night. He and Lucy share a room (I don't know if I mentioned that before) and generally he is not bothered by her. I can't say the same for her. She is a pretty solid sleeper, but when he yells  in the middle of the night Lucy hears it. This morning I went to get him at 6:30 am and I thought that I would let Lucy stay in her bed. She had different plans in which she said "Mommy. I am going to sleep in your bed because Sam was waking me up!" Lately if Sam is being particularly disruptive I will bring Lucy into our room, while I stay in the room with Sam. Though it doesn't make too much of difference. You can hear Sam in every part of our home. We haven't tested the basement, but I suspect no one really wants to sleep down there at this time of year.

His latest achievement is a third tooth, the top left front tooth. Does anyone else think those might be the funniest looking teeth? I mean, they look HUGE in comparison to the ones on the bottom and his gums are super swollen. It is definitely an interesting look for him.

He is also very mobile. He crawls and climbs and walks along furniture like a pro. In fact, I do believe he is more sure footed than Lucy ever will be. That little girl trips over herself all the time. But is she super resilient and simply says "I'm okay," whenever she falls. If it is actually painful she still says "I'm okay," it just tends to be coupled with some whimpers. Sam on the other hand, doesn't fall very often, but when he does we know about it.

Lucy's life revolves around pestering her brother, going to the park, making new friends, watching "Arthur," having snacks, and telling me what to do. I think my favorite thing about Lucy is she picks up phrases and then uses them randomly in conversation. Today she kept saying "I'm in a pickle!" I have no idea where she picked that up. She also says "the most important thing..." and "when I go to New York City." She started the last one after we were visiting Cooprider family. I think she and one of her cousins had some plans for travel.

She is also really funny about singing. She sings "Old MacDonald" every time she goes potty, and I often hear her doing improvs while she is playing. In church yesterday she was singing along with the hymn, but when everyone stopped at the end of the song she just held out the last note for an awkwardly long time after. We had to ask her to stop so that we could hear the prayer. It was special.

Jimmy and I are also doing well. Jimmy still likes his job. They sent him to an HR training last week, and he is enrolled in a leadership course that he goes to every Monday. I think he feels challenged but it is more or less enjoyable. I am looking into part-time teaching. Honestly I haven't really done much searching since I got here. But I have a few leads with near by schools and I have applied with some online programs as well. We will see what comes of it.

So that is update. I feel like I filled in a few gaps. Now here is my promise to you all. I will write about the end of the our Disney trip. However it will not be as thorough as my brother and sister-in-law's blog. I will more or less give some pictures with some bulleted descriptions. Sorry, my notes for Disney were no-exsistent, and I have a weak memory. But it will be done, if anything for our posterity.

Before I go, I am thinking about changing my blog over to wordpress. Any thoughts?

A peak inside

We really haven't finished putting everything in order, but Lucy did a great job modeling off our couch today.
