Summer 2016 (with a lot of holes...)

Did you know that Rose is about to start crawling?! Probably not, because I so bad at keeping this up to date.  Rose deserves some face time on this blog because someday I hope to print all of this off and put it into a book. And, just as expected you can see the exponential decrease of pictures for the third born child in our family. So yeah, it is time for some pictures!

Is not she so cute?! She will be 7 months on Monday.  I think she looks like Sam, but really does have her own thing going on...it will be interesting to see how she evolves over the next few months. She loves the bouncy swing, and will actually bounce in it. Lucy and Sam did not really care for it in that way.

And then there is this kid, who is still learning how to use the potty -- he can pee in the potty no problem, and really doesn't have accidents. Bowel movements are a different story, but we are getting there!

In the early summer (July) we went to the Millis Carnival. It is small and really nothing to get too excited about. We thought it was a good way to get in some rides without doing an entire day at an amusement park. The kids loved it!

Well most of them....

We didn't really get in to much swimming and beach days this summer. I am was not really in the emotional state to do it several times with three kids one of which was still a little baby. But we did get in one day with our friends. We went to Skaket beach on the Cape. It was a perfect day. Our only wish was that we could have stayed longer. But we had a wake service for my great grandmother in NH, so we only stayed for the morning. That is worth another post!

Sam is not much of a swimmer. He barely made it through his swim lessons at the YMCA, and he just doesn't last that long at the beach.

This girl loves the sand and the water with all her heart!

At the end of July we decided to go on a small camping trip. We booked a small campsite in Rhode Island and made our way down there on Friday morning. We stopped at Lucy's favorite restaurant, Subway.

Then we made our way to the campsite. We made sure we would have plenty of time to set up the tent and cook before it got dark. The weather was delightful!

Rose spent most of her time in this stroller -- she did great!

We had Lucy and Sam in the small tent. Lucy stole all of the blankets, but they stayed in the tent all night, so it was a win.

I am so glad Jimmy loves to take care of the fire. Though, he might have used a few sticks of butter  in our food -- I think he was trying to make up for all the veggies we eat.

Here is Sam holding in his need to go to the potty. Poor, poor Sam!

The next day we took the kids down to Warwick to Oakland beach. Right next to the beach is a great seafood shack called Iggy's. It was the same beach Jimmy and I visited when we went away for a day or two for our 5th anniversary. The seafood was amazing, and again the weather was fantastic!

On our way home we stopped at Sonic, because they have great drinks. We timed it so we were there when things were marked down in price and we all enjoyed some good frozen beverages. Then we went home and got some real sleep -- as opposed to camping sleep, which is never restful!

There were other things that happened this summer, but goodness gracious, I don't have picture right now. Just to name a few, Old Home Day, our 7th wedding anniversary, swimming lessons (as mentioned previously), School starting, etc... Perhaps I will have to include another post with this information.

But because I have pictures of this I will include some more recent events. This last weekend we decided to go on a camping trip with some of our friends. We went up to Townsend, to the State Park Pine Hill. It was beautiful and because it was later in the season we didn't have to pay for parking and there were NO BUGS!

Someone who stayed in our site before us created this beautiful "fairy" village. It was amazing! Lucy tried to re-create her own.

Rose and her rosy noise!

For this camping trip we hit some more exciting weather and had to throw ourselves into our tents when a downpour started. We all slept together because it was raining so hard we couldn't hear the kids in the other tent. It was a cozy time and we actually slept OK. We were all still really tired! When we woke up the next morning we cooked all the food we meant to eat the night before and lazily cleaned up our campsite. By the time we had done this is was past noon, so we started our drive home. All the kids fell asleep on the way home...

Lucy and Sam are both doing some sort of school and Rose is super close to crawling. She has also broken her first tooth (right before her 7 month mark!). She is sleeping okay...but that depends a lot on colds and teeth and on the fact that we can be noisy sleepers sometimes. Hopefully sometime soon we will find a house with 3 bedrooms...We can keep praying!
