Hiking & BBQ on a rainy Saturday

The group of women in my Church went for a hike this past Saturday. As many of you from Utah would know, it was raining, and raining, and raining. Actually it was quite delightful. I like hiking when you are being constantly cooled off. Oh, an Gretchen came back, hooray! She is super busy with work, but it is nice to have her around. And we also took home a caterpillar. He was playing on my back-pack all the way back.

There was also an activity planned for everyone in our Church. It was the second time they tried to plan it, but it was rained out. So, in determination to enjoy the weekend, and have a BBQ we went to a same park, and cooked hotdogs, and a few meager hamburgers. Jimmy is quite the cook. He even added some onions.

Making the best of the rain

My roommate Jen, Jimmy, and some other guys in our complex played with water balloons. It was a great time. We even invented a game where we dueled with water balloons and the person who lost was pelted with more balloons by those who were watching. I guess we just wanted something fun to do even if there was rain. Funny thing, there wasn't any rain when we finally started playing. This may have been one of my favorite Saturday activities yet!

I am a mess

Sometimes we have bad days. I guess today was one of them for me. There was no particular reason, I was just grumpy. I kind of wish I could warn myself in advance so I would know why I was irritable, and maybe warn others, but alas...

The update of the week is that Jimmy took the official LSAT on monday, so all the stress that he was feeling has been funneled into me. hah! That is kind of the reason today was bad. I think I have been trying to keep it all together this week, but my tiredness, trying to be happy and strong, has finally caught up to me. I was sick on Tuesday, and haven't felt particularly well since. But, I will make it. I think this is going to be a whining post. Sorry!

Today we went to the Provo Temple, and continued on the announcements. That was not so much fun, because the glue we bought didn't hold and we had to take everything apart. Oh geez! But I will be pretend-happy and say "it will all work out!" Announcements really are a bother.

Well, that is enough pessimism for me! I am giving myself flowers to cheer myself up. Sleep time!

Sometimes we need to get out of Provo!

There are some really nice places outside of Provo, that I just need to escape to once and a while. This is one of them!
