We are proud of you

The Family

The Graduates
I promised a summary of the graduation activities so here goes! We started the week going up to Murray and enjoying some time with the family. We ate, we played games and we did all the fun things one can do when there are no more finals and school is over. And let me tell you, Jimmy was in a good mood. Why shouldn't he be?! He was well on his way to graduation bliss.
Thursday was commencement. Jimmy and I showed up relativily early to save his family seats. The Marriot was packed. In fact they didn't leave enough room for all the graduates and had to do some shifting to get them all seated and ready to go. It was pretty quick even with a general authority speaker. Elder Christofferson gave a great talk and it was short and sweet. After commencement we went up to Murray for ribs and Grandma Marie's cooking goodness! We even played a game of Bang with friends and family. Ask Jimmy, it was a funny game.
Friday was convocation. Jimmy and I again found ourselves at the Marriot again. We found seats for the family and Jimmy went to get in line again. This ceremony was quite a bit longer and Jimmy's name was called towards the end, but it was worth it. We took some pictures and then headed to Murray this time for Cafe Rio. And yes, Cafe Rio is amazing, even though it is worth two or three meals. Yum!
And from then on we did a little more family visiting and came home Saturday night to start our summer! Since then I have worked everyday on campus, and Jimmy has done a lot of the housework while looking for jobs. He is such a good sport!
Yesterday we went up to Riverton to visit some family friends and today we went to the Provo temple. Now Jimmy is camping with scouts and I am home doing thesis corrections and writing a blog post. So, that's it...what more can I say, we lead an exciting life!
By the way, sorry about he formatting. I don't know what is going on!

Summer hiking....

Nice View!

Brothers!

Us

Melanie and Davis

I am sure I will have something to say about graduation in a day or two, when everything is over and done, but as for now I thought I would show you some pictures of some recent Y-Mountain hikes. About two weeks ago we went with Davis and Melanie because the weather was just starting to get better. It has, of course, fluctuated between cold and hot since then, but it was a nice change of pace. Our other hike up the to famous concrete Y was with Joe. It was even better weather that day, maybe even a little to hot for me. We got a treat at the top. Three para-sailing (sp?) guys were preparing to take-off just above us. They began sailing right before we starting hiking down, and we watched them the whole way back to the car. Splendid day indeed!

Stay tuned for the graduation play-by-play. It is going to be a doozy!

Can you feel it?!

It's the NO-MORE-CLASS feeling!

Yesterday was the last day of classes and we are just giddy with excitement. I still have research, and Jimmy still has two finals and a paper, but we are naturally relieved to be done with the semester.

Yes, my friends, Jimmy will graduate in 9 days!

In other news, I finally bought some new casual shoes. My old pair wore out in one month, and it had holes in the soles (poet?). I am pretty hardcore with my shoes. Now I have some nice new shoes with extra-strength sole protection.

Last week in general was a very productive week. We got our tax refund, we bought a universal camera charger (I lost my in DC), we bought my new shoes, and we even bought a new game as a reward for finishing the semester. Ticket to Ride Europe!

This week Anne, Jimmy's sister, is coming out, and then soon after the rest of the family. We are excited to spend some time with them, and take a little break from work! Until then....bring on graduation!

We are sooooo close!

First, Jimmy is the most wonderful husband ever!

Second, above is a picture of Washington and Lee. Yes, he visited Virginia, and this is what he saw.

Third, Jimmy finished Logic today. It is a HUGE relief for him! It was a very hard class, but he made it to the end, and that was very exciting.

Countdown:

6 class days
13 days until last day of finals!
