Oh family!

This week my parents are in town to experience the joy of being new grandparents. It has been a lot of fun, and very busy. As you have seen from the pictures below, I am an Aunt, which means we have been helping Andrea and Roland out. We have seen them everyday since little Liam was born, mostly helping out. All Liam does is eat and sleep, like all cute babies do :) As my parents have arrived we have been a little more busy, trying to keep them busy, as well as getting time to spend with Liam. Needless to say we haven't been too bored. On Friday my parents got in, and we went by to say hello. Saturday we went on an excursion to the mall. I wanted to show my parents my wedding dress, and my dad wanted to try on some suits. He and Jimmy went off to do this as my mom and I looked for a dress for her.

Side note: I should chain my cellphone to my belt. I have misplaced it over 5 or 6 times this weekend. Humorous when I don't need it because I am with Jimmy, annoying when we are trying to meet up somewhere. Poor Jimmy, has to deal with my old lady antics of forgetting things all the time. I am turning 25 this week....

As I was mentioning the family festivities....Sunday we went to Church like normal, and in the afternoon I made a cake because Liam was going to be blessed and we were going to have a family get-together afterwards. Let me tell you about this cake. It was hideous!! I am inspired to tell you how I made it, because in the end I was told it was yummy. Step one: Ruin the cake by not putting the correct leavening ingredient. It was flat, but still sweet and yummy, however it looked like death in a cake pan. By the way, it was a yellow cake. Next, make a fabulously tasting strawberry sauce, that just might save the day on looks. Tear up the cake, making layers of cake and strawberry sauce in a normal cake pan. Add a layer of butter-milk frosting (yum, yum!), and then put some fresh strawberries on top. It doesn't look like a failure, however I couldn't eat it without thinking it was a disaster in the making. Oh well...experiments are always fun.

After making my cake we headed over to the Chapel for the baby blessing, and after promptly drove up to the family get-together for sandwiches and conversation. It is always interesting listening to family stories, especially those associated with babies being born.

And that is my report. How does one end these silly blogs? Wittiness is not my talent. Adios amigitos :)
